FACEMAN / FaceIQ and appearance ratings

Appearance ratings from photos: how to read FaceIQ

An appearance score summarizes a particular method applied to particular photographs. It is not an objective answer to how attractive a person is. In Faceman, FaceIQ combines reference-based assessments with the analysis workflow; AI does not invent the final number.

A measurement and a rating are different

An angle or ratio is calculated from landmarks. A Tier rating compares a feature with selected visual references and involves an aesthetic judgment. A precise-looking number does not remove the choices behind the references, weights or photograph. Read the underlying evidence before interpreting an overall score.

What contributes to FaceIQ?

FaceIQ combines four categories: harmony, traits, angularity and dimorphism. Harmony concerns geometric relationships; other categories use applicable feature assessments against references. Dimorphism here is a comparison category, not an inference of someone’s identity. The calculation uses category weights and an adjustment for differences between category scores, rather than a plain arithmetic average.

Who selects the Tier ratings?

With manual filling, you inspect the examples and choose the appropriate Tier yourself. Where available, optional AI-assisted filling compares the analysis photos with the reference images and proposes feature ratings. In either case the Faceman engine calculates FaceIQ. Manual filling is not a request to an external AI provider to make those comparisons.

Why might no FaceIQ be displayed yet?

Scoring must be enabled and the applicable ratings must be complete. Some assessments require a particular view or usable reference images. You can start with a front photo, a profile photo or both; a missing view restricts what can be assessed, rather than making both views mandatory for every analysis. Follow the application’s availability and completion messages, not a promise of an instant score from any photo.

Why can another selfie change the result?

Camera distance, perspective, head pose, expression and lighting affect visible evidence. Landmark placement and the selected Tier ratings also matter. To investigate a change, compare the source photos and the relevant points and ratings. A different score alone does not establish that someone became more or less attractive.

Can you compare ratings from different services?

Not as though they were one calibrated scale. Services can use different landmarks, reference images, category weights and scoring rules. A ten-point label does not make the methods equivalent. Faceman does not turn its result into a validated population percentile or an objective ranking of people.

What should you check before using optional AI?

Availability and purchase conditions are shown in the application. Before AI-assisted filling starts, the confirmation screen identifies the configured provider and asks for consent to send the current analysis photos and references. Manual filling does not make that provider transfer. The service still processes uploaded photos and reports under its privacy policy; manual does not mean everything stays in your browser.

Use the report as an explanation, not a verdict

Start by reviewing photo quality and landmarks, inspect available measurements, then read completed reference-based assessments in context. Do not use an appearance score as a measure of intelligence, health or personal worth, or as a reason to choose a treatment. Current plans, limits and AI conditions are displayed in the application rather than fixed on this guide page.
